Today we move to an exclusive area of Barcelona to present a new dwelling as amended by A-cero. This is a large house (1690m2 area) that is being built today.

Spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea could be seen from the parcel of property, have been exploited to the maximum with the design of a residence fully committed to the landscape.

To this end, the back wall was closed in its entirety with large windows that make the environment part of the house and cancel the boundary between indoors and outdoors.

The house, clad in travertine marble, plans on four levels (basement, under the first and second floor) adapted to the slope of the land where the building sits. Read the rest of this entry »

OH House

The house has been built at five feet below street level, on a small lot in a very irregular. The main priority in the design was to create parking space for one car. To meet this requirement has built a platform with a steel material similar to a network.

The driveway is placed on the basement level, next to the stairs leading from where the car. Upon entering the house, there is a flight of stairs to the family area, two bedrooms and a bathroom at the end.

Jiménez Torrecillas, Andalusian minimalism

Today we travel to Andalusia to show you the architecture of Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas, a professional outside the media publicity with a strong production, minimalist, conceptual and extremely attached to his hometown of Granada.

Jiménez Torrecillas (1962) is passionate about their land and their customs: “I live in the world, but every night I sleep in Granada,” he said.

Project works as a professor in the School of Architecture of Granada, but travels frequently at universities around the world provided a visiting lecturer.

Since his first built work, the Centro José Guerrero (Granada, 1991-2000), this discreet design and shows us her exceptional ability to keep the leitmotiv of every project from start to finish. This first work, awarded to the Best Intervention in Historical, reveals his mastery of Andalusia in the best way to rehabilitate an old building located in the center of a city with much history as is Granada. This work demonstrates the ability to recognize Jiménez Torrecillas always the historical value of their interventions and interpreting these values in a respectful and contemporary.

Proof of this is also its exemplary action in the High Albaicín Nazari wall (Granada, 2002), winner of numerous national and international awards. In this project the Granada wisely used natural stone and enhances their chances with a series of porous walls that allow light to pass through smoothly. As can be seen in the images in this article the author returns delicately tracing and volume of the wall and a reconstruction that moves away from historical mimicry with subtlety and humility. A space devoted to experimental art, “The Slaughterhouse”

All the ships that were in the old slaughterhouse of Madrid, together with some adjoining land, began in 2006 to rehabilitate reliza “change” …. to become a great cultural center that finally culminated in the 2011.

A single space characterized by being directed to any movement of cultural expression and / or artistic, home inside a different audience. Has evolved to become a place for the training of designers, as well as the production of works, exhibition, aimed at the more experimental side beyond our borders, at international level.

Located in the Paseo de La Chopera 12 (Madrid), has a total area 148.300m2. This great location allows for all the fine arts, from literature, film, performing arts, architecture, design, music, visual arts.

Inside you can enjoy relaxing moments in its restaurants, shops, cafes or even visit the wonderful greenhouse or in the classroom dedicated to the environment.

Reform and expansion of single family home

In this reform and expansion of a house by the studio A-cero, led by J. Torres, R. Llamazares, is intended to respond to customer needs in terms of rooms and areas with special care in relation to the existing environment, materialized this care in the special care that provides the house with the existing vegetation, a cork of high ecological value .

The house was in a state of disrepair and neglect so that the studio has decided to give it a second chance to recover and all its light Mediterranean.

Housing is arranged on two floors high and low, spreading the floor in three pieces: guests, children and service, united by a common area consisting of lounge, dining room and connected to the upper floor where the bedroom main bathroom and dressing.

An interesting set of porches and terraces embrace the courtyard. Reduced in the intervention corridors, organizing the continuous stay in space, which is of particular attention by introducing warm lighting and cold sources and giving prominence to the indirect light that gives harmonious and serene environment.
