The Prince of Wales Country Club was a challenge to live up to the times for which they proposed to offer new services related to leisure and sport and re-enchanting and its partners to promote the informal, and increase the general use during the week.

There were well-established and outdoor facilities so the strategy was to define a platform-level sports resolved underground, and gardens of the north flank of the Club House. In a contemporary language that will not create conflict with the existing architecture of such eclectic turn, the fact of being underground maintains the existing situation of looking at the sports fields from the same building, which represents a value for the architectural design status of the original building site.

The functional unity of the new facilities is from the subway, at your sides, with ramps leading down to the level swimming pool and gym. While in the first level, connection occurs via two bridges, which link the existing building, and sports areas.

The project consists of a single flag, versatile in part to the field has a large curved wall with a steady rhythm, which contains a pool and gym areas lit from above by light sockets marked on the grassy. Furthermore, this curved wall by their morphology improves structure solution for the project. In contrast, we present a benign south facade around a yard light travels.

Important compositional elements in the main hall of the underground site, as already mentioned, the curved wall is covered with mosaics, a plastic finish ceiling, light sockets in a steady and continuous glass cloth over the entire project.

Project Challenge
The starting point for the renovation was a modest Victorian house in very poor condition, with rooms with small windows and dark interior spaces were separated from each other, as was typical of houses built in the era where privacy was a cultural priority. In another gesture to the Victorian public decoration, arrangements of existing interior spaces reinforce the ancient ideal of work and family life should be separate.

Although the client requested to renovate the space do the work in the house, while maintaining a clear separation from his family life was also important to create a modern and bright space that seemed small in size and continues to be spacious and connected visually.

Response Project
Echo: noun, “a similar or identical response, as the sentiments expressed, a lingering trace or effect”

The fact that the house has had few changes since it was originally built, is both a virtue and a challenge that allows multiple design opportunities. The footprint of the house is small (approximately 65 m2). Then, it was not possible to create a sort of loft on the first floor that seems to simultaneously open and give the necessary distinction between workspace and be. The house was preview as a vertical loft, an open volume using four-story from the foundation to the roof of the new intervention. The main level and previous level of foundations is open from side to side through a staircase, which highlights the views of the foundations of the stonewalls of the original house. Therefore, the above main space of the Victorian house, once segregated into separate pieces is now becomes open and spacious. The small original windows are replaced by large windows on both the front and the sides of the room, visually extending into the garden space front and rear, and finally, possible to have spectacular views from the patio (all over the house) to the Rideau Canal.

The space requirements include some very private spaces: a study may contain several thousand books, an office and a bedroom en suite. To achieve this paradoxical response to commission a house loft spaces as private but as the old Victorian house, study, office and the vault of books are designed as distinctive volumes suspended within the large volume of 4 floors. Since these volumes “float” within the shell of the original house, they gain the necessary visual privacy from the living room on the bottom and the street outside (despite increasing the areas of windows). While these spaces are small, are bright, airy, and larger read by having visual access to both windows and to other interior spaces of the house.

The most private areas of the house (such as closets, bathrooms and stairways) are located along the south wall of the house and were protected by a screen three stories. At the top level, flying over the main room and the front facade patio, in addition to appearing distinctly as a floating volume and forming a roof above the entrance. In this sense, the attic space above the Victorian house is redesigned to provide light and views which never existed before in the original house, and due to its elevated position, maintaining privacy.

The project is a small mixed-use building located in the access of a new park office within a suburb of Melbourne, Richmond. Its position on the terrain allows views over the Yarra River and the skyline to the north-west.

The program includes a Restaurant building and two shops at street level, plus two floors of office on these. The client / building owner will occupy part of office space. The building has a floor shaped a typical for the offices.

This partially evolved form of negotiation between a series of conflicts in planning.
This may not be your idea of a house, but it is bold and fun, and it has certainly attracted the attention of the media. The 8500 square meters Casa Son Vida is cooperation between three power houses: Luxury Estates Cosmopolitan residential developer, designer and founder eclectic Dutch and Nice, Marcel Wanders, and award-winning Los Angeles based architecture Switzerland and Hong Kong.

Casa Son Vida is located in the Balearic Islands off Spain, on the island of Majorca, where humans have lived since 6000-4000 BC and, more recently, the where clause, the range of tourism assets in overcrowded each time, but Casa Son Vida Avoid Tourist kitsch and goals much higher. That is exclusive community in Son Vida, just 15 minutes from the capital Palma.

His Casa Vida is actually a renovation of a 1960s villa in the Mediterranean, but it has been transformed into a fantastic, sprawling luxury home, designed to attract young, discerning and fat, who are confident and design-savvy enough to know what they watch.

The Handiwork and Marcel Wanders is evident everywhere in the house that looks a bit like an undisciplined film together with its dinosaur bones outside staircase, and various bits and pieces that remind you of Tomorrowland, Mickey Mouse, Finding Nemo and course, Alice in Wonderland.

With its retro synthesis House happily with his clashes greenery, but inside, in serenity its white dominance is much less startling, although fun and unexpected details of the whole world lies in the space. There is absolutely nothing ordinary in this house. Everything is done in every aspect Considered one million times. It is an excellent example Considered or chaos.

This is the first of six units IT plan for Platinum Estates development, by just less than a year Cosmopolitan Estates. Plans for the remaining houses eclectic Reveal a series of large homes, radically differentiated from each other. Today’s Casa Vida is not for sale but the other five are. Dream on.
Atkin’s Architecture Group recently won the first prize in an international design competition for this wonderful building. Located in a spectacular water filled quarry Song Jiang, China, the 400-bed hotel Resort is built in the unique natural features of the quarry. Room’s underwater areas of the public and invited add to the singularity, but the resort also boasts cafes, restaurants and sports facilities.

The lowest level runs with the aquatic theme by housing a luxurious swimming pool and sports center for extreme activities like rock climbing and bungee jumping which will be cantilevered over the quarry and accessed by Special lifts water. With a stunning visual presentation as shown here, it is not surprising that this project was the price of a first home. This is a good example of an ultra-modern facility co-existing in its natural environment.

The jury, consisting of Wiel Arets (Chairman), Stefan Behnisch, Adriaan Geuze, John Körmeling, Michelle Provoost and Harm Tilman, received 104 entries to judge. Besides its task to appoint five winners, the jury asked to select 25 plans for this exhibition.

The 5 winners are: PHENY N.Y. Nine of LA La Lidy Meijers and Helga Fast (Posterholt); Figure of Sky RV Ritoe Architecture, Urbanism and Infrastructure (Delft), The Butterfly Maarten van Tuijl, Tom Berg Foot, Naoko Hikami (Amsterdam), assisted by Peter Farmer, Head of the City of Fountain Head of Christian Müller and Forideas (Amsterdam).

The 5 winners each received a check for 10,000 euros. The audience winners Marc Prince, Igor Kebel and Mika Cimolini with their plan Mediator left with a bunch of flowers and honor.

Fountain Head, Mediator

The jury selected 25 plans constitute a range of options that will further debate good colors. Yet after the publication appear to have created more questions than when the organization of the contest.

Should the building or at the site of the current stand firm? (For details see the website below) knife for a building presents a municipality in the 21st century must be a high building? Should the program of a city office or interfere with commercial functions? How to create a barrier-town office?

The public debate was between those questions back and forth jumping. Especially the question of what public space in such a situation and how that is shaping remained unanswered.

It is remarkable to see that again in a design competition that focuses on urban planners most of the entries a ‘finished’ building presents. You should to speak with an invitation to this presentation has a contractor could do. Yet the competition has a positive impact on the debate currently occurring. There is thus much opportunity given to the municipality-by-dark aspects Rotterdam reuse of existing buildings and adding a new element to “Moderator” or redefining the plinth with many other entries.

All in all, the issuing of such a competition for young architects a good move from Rotterdam to thinking about the city in many different directions to send. Hope also to be acted.

Mediator of Elastik, the audience winner

PHENY N.Y. L. A. La Nine

An upwards becoming ever more massive volume of 230 meter is high at night the beacon of the city. The form refers to the traditional New York Skyscrapers, but upside down. It gives the air rights back to the urban area on the ground. – “A skyscraper that reverse upwards always be massive – a concept that challenges to further development.”

Figure Sky

Behind the old building of the City Timmerhuis is a public service a solid square block placed incisions with a light on this square optimal permit. The ground floor of the old building contains desk functions and catering. The sculptural volume office and leisure facilities housed. Flexibility is governed by hanging additional floor areas between the double floors high. “Sometimes no tower, but a beautiful log object, and pronounced that a special outdoor poses.”

“The Butterfly”

On the square behind the old building of the City Timmerhuis is a high round tower on top, as an addition to the skyline of Rotterdam. A butterfly-shaped ring hovers above the adjacent buildings and connect it to the new Office. “An important quality of the concept is that it forces to look beyond just the actual location of the town office.

Head of the City

The site plan is reused for various facilities and office and business space. Most of the required office functions, including City Hall and Post Office, is moved to a more urban location on the Wilhelminaplein on the Kop van Zuid. “The simple but effective concept encourages debate on whether the location of the current town hall is so much must be built.”

Fountainhead

A 192 meter high support construction can be completed in phases. First to 70 meter height with the requested program. The underground parking facility accommodates ten layers of hot and cold water storage tanks for regulating the energy of the building. “A strong architectural design. Even if the building would be lower, the architecture retains its strength. “

Mediator

The current situation is extended through the inside of the Old City Timmerhuis reshape and add a tower on the Square Window. “The draft includes the existing buildings (including the part on the nomination is to be demolished) for a new background. This they won aa
